Nina Silverberg - R E G A R D
Nina Silverberg

Silverberg’s paintings are characterised by a quiet intensity, a restrained colour scheme and an often intimate size. Balancing a sense of solitude with subtle emotional intimacy, her work explores themes of isolation and illness, as well as the interplay between interior and exterior spaces.

After a prolonged period of illness in her early adulthood, she frequently turns to enduring symbols of care and comfort. Sickbeds stand in for self-portraits, silhouetted forms evoke Mediterranean dwellings, gloves suggest protection and vulnerability, and, more recently, books represent retreating into an inner, contemplative world.

At once melancholic and comforting, her works reflect a shared fragility while also offering a sense of resilience, proposing quiet empowerment as a way of navigating contemporary life.
