Born in Lyon in 1948, Alain Planès has been a pianist since early childhood. He has developed an international career marked by a rigorous and pared-down approach to the repertoire, with a particular focus on the works of Erik Satie, Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel, as well as Schubert, Haydn and Bartók.

Alongside his musical practice, he develops a self-taught painting practice, primarily dedicated to the representation of composers, as well as a body of poetic writing.

Il a développé une carrière internationale marquée par une approche rigoureuse et épurée du répertoire, avec une attention particulière portée aux œuvres d’Erik Satie, Claude Debussy et Maurice Ravel, ainsi qu’à celles de Schubert, Haydn et Bartók.

Parallèlement à sa pratique musicale, il développe une pratique picturale autodidacte, principalement consacrée à la représentation de compositeurs, ainsi qu’un travail d’écriture poétique.
