Giulietta Cogotti (born 1999) is a painter who graduated with honors from the jury at the Nantes School of Fine Arts (Beaux-Arts de Nantes) in 2024.

Her work explores the tension between silent figures concealed by masks or makeup and the latent threat of suspended landscapes. Ruins, volcanoes, and twilight enter into dialogue with her still portraits. In this confrontation, painting becomes an uncertain space.

The choice of support, wood or canvas mounted on wood, gives each work the nature of an object. The painted surface becomes a physical space where matter seems to vibrate between silence and tension.

In these paintings, fixity is never synonymous with calm; rather, it reveals the persistence of unease.

Ruines, volcans et crépuscules dialoguent ainsi avec les portraits immobiles. Dans cette confrontation, la peinture devient un espace incertain.
